I wonder if this will ever come to the US market...I can only pray for that at the moment.

Ford should introduce its own DSG asap. Tiguan already has it for its diesels. A smaller diesel or direct injection turbocharged gasoline would be a welcome sight too considering Tiguan's presence with the TSI's...

The front is ugly- I don't like the lights or the vents under them- with the front lower grill it makes the whole car look depressed!

*btchslap* Who told you it doesn't have one? Ever heard of Ford's PowerShift six-speed double-clutch transmission? Anyhow, despite Ford designer's effort, they couldn't help important ressemblances with VW's Tiguan. Nice overall car tho.

Besides, the Tiguan TDi doesn't have any DSG's but Tiptronic instead. I drove one in December at this VIP presentation and it's surprisingly well tuned and fast.

ck314: Sorry for the DSG confusion; you're right they haven't introduced it yet to the Tiguan... I remembered it that way. However Ford also doesn't have it yet either. I have much more in-depth info than you may think and it will hit the markets pretty soon though... Let's wait and see European wide sales figures who comes on top! :)

Apparently VW/Audi has some trouble in making the 4Motion/Quattro + DSG/S-tronic compatible, and I wonder if Ford will sort it out, unless they release a FWD version because it is already available in the Focus.

Nice car in my opinion. And it would be a good one, I'm sure. In one year time I shall make a choice between Tiguan and Kuga, provided that Kuga would come with the new PowerShift gearbox which will be available this year in Europe on Focus and C-max. It seems that VW decided to choose Tiptronic and not DSG because Tiptronic is more suited for Tiguan's 2,500 kilos towing capacity. Unfortunately, for the time being there is no sign that Ford would match the 2.0 TDCi diesel with a PowerShift automatic. I hope they would do so eventually.
