Not enough chrome on your regular British Chevrolet Captiva? Are those standard 17-inch wheels not bling enough for you? Well Chevrolet has the answer with the new special edition Captiva Edge.
Based on the 2.0 VCDi LT seven seater model, the Edge adds over £2,400 of freebies over the standard vehicle.
To help you stand out from the more mundane Captiva’s on the road, Chevrolet have kitted out the vehicle with some monstrous Irmscher 20-inch Evo star alloy wheels and some shiny chrome side bars that run along the sills of the vehicle. To bring it all together as a package the body is sprayed in a distinctive ‘Zest Brown’ paint. We would have to say that the colour is more copper orange than zesty brown but you can take a look at the image and make your own mind up.
The mechanical package is unchanged from the standard car which is no bad thing as the Captiva is competitive to drive on the road and similar to its X-Trial and Rav4 rivals. Just don’t take it too far off-road as you might scratch those lovely wheels.

CAPTIVA SPECIAL HAS THE ‘EDGE’
* Special edition Captiva seven seater with 20-inch alloys and side bars
* Distinctive ‘Zest Brown’ paint, free of charge (other colours optional)
* Over £2,400 worth of free kit and just £19,995 on-the-road
You too could have the ‘Edge’! For a strictly limited period, Chevrolet is offering a limited edition ‘Edge’ version of the popular Captiva SUV, with over £2,400 worth of extras free of charge.
The seven-seater ‘Edge’ model is based on the 2.0 VCDi LT model and is available to order from Chevrolet retailers, priced at £19,995 – a saving of £1,145 against the standard Captiva 2.0 VCDi LT with seven seats.
As well as the already impressive list of standard equipment featured in the Captiva LT, which includes air conditioning, front fog lamps, a radio CD Player with MP3 capability, electronic stability control, power-operated door mirrors, electric front and rear windows, descent control and a neat, two-piece glass flip tailgate, the ‘Edge’ edition adds striking Irmscher 20-inch Evo Star alloy wheels and distinctive chrome side bars.
What’s more, those who order the Captiva Edge in the model’s distinctive launch colour of Zest Brown, a bold orangey-copper shade, will also get the metallic paint thrown in without cost – a reward for driving one of the most noticeable Captivas on the road!
The limited edition adds even more great value for money to the Captiva range and will further strengthen Chevrolet’s growth in the UK market – in January, sales grew by 81% versus January 07, which followed on from overall sales growth of 27.6 % in 2007.
But hurry – the Captiva Edge is a genuine limited edition and will only be on offer for cars ordered before March 17, 2008.
