Acura, Honda’s North American prestige brand (think Nissan – Infiniti and Toyota – Lexus) will launch the all new Acura TSX at the 2008 New York International Auto Show. If you squint slightly while looking at the image, you would be forgiven for thinking the new car was a European spec Honda Accord. It may come as no surprise then to discover that the current 2008 Acura TSX is a rebadged version of the European spec Honda Accord.

The 2008 model is equipped with a 205hp 2.4L i-VTEC inline 4 cylinder engine and either a 5 speed automatic or 6 speed manual gearbox. Acura are coy on specifications of the 2009 TSX at present but promise improvements in performance so expect at least a refresh of the powertrains. The styling is more evolution than revolution as Acura appears to be playing it safe. Safety and technology are also said to be in for enhancement so expect airbags and traction control devices aplenty.

Acura announced today it will debut the all-new 2009 Acura TSX sports sedan at the 2008 New York International Auto Show and released an exterior photo of the new model. Scheduled to go on-sale in the spring, the 2009 Acura TSX will be the second generation of Acura's popular entry level sedan and feature numerous advancements in performance, styling, technology and safety.

"The new 2009 TSX speaks clearly to the direction we are taking our Acura sedans in the future," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president auto sales, "The TSX is a significant step in the advancement of our sedan lineup and the continued enhancement of the Acura brand."  Acura unveiled the new 2009 RL at the Chicago Auto Show last week and also announced the company will introduce an-all new TL performance luxury sedan later this year.

Hopefully they also bringthe cool wagon here. Even though they probably will not call it a wagon! Is this Euro Accord made in England?

it has a big fat upper lip... not necessarily ugly but its not out of the box design. it will take time getting used to.

i see acura (honda) didn't stray too far from the last generation's styling. where's the turbo 4 from the acura suv? 205 hp isn't going to get it when i can get 60 more in a US model accord.
