With every can fan on the planet still awestruck by Nissan’s new GT-R supercar, news that top Japanese tuning firms are already offering upgrades may be enough to send them over the edge. Here are the highlights of the upcoming raft of aftermarket bolt-ons for Nissan’s new supercar:
Mines have developed adjustable coilover suspension, a 400mm brake kit, high-flow catalysers and a more freer-flowing titanium exhaust system. This has already seen a 20bhp hike in dyno tests and the firm is busying itself working on the ECU to allow the car to run higher boost levels.
Sunline Racing have also been hard at work, replacing the standard wheels with staggered 19in and 20in Volk Racing items and working on their own adjustable coilover suspension kits.
Amuse showed their larger carbon fibre rear wing, carbon front bumper lip and titanium cat-back exhaust system at the recent Tokyo Autosalon.
JUN are developing stronger engine internals and larger turbos to be released later in the year, while legendary Skyline tuners Top Secret already have a full carbon fibre aero kit in the pipeline.

According to the recent EVO (UK) articles, GT-R will be delivered with a special servicing package and in order to fulfill the warranty conditions, any modification is "prohibited & easily detectable" on the ECU.
I am certainly aware that every owner will look for upgrades for this amazing car but they should also be aware of the consequences.
It will be fun to see how much BHP is hidden in this gem of an engine... :)

Umm you void the warranty on ANY car if you modify it while still under warranty. What people are going to do if they are really worried is they will get 2 Ecu's the stock 1 they take out and the tuned one. If something breaks on the car they return it to stock form and pop in the unused stock ECU and you're good to go.

The car has been under development for years.. Hope those companies does not destroy the car's "balance" of power and abilities by selling "whatever" products for the sake of earning money..

I think that just as long as this car has been in the works these tuners have had their hand's on it. I will wait for the HKS and Nismo tunes though.

thank u someone is talking sense ....back then u wanted to upgrade ur engine cuz it couldnt do 0 to 60 under 4 or what not and so on ... with the Spec V on its way and nismo Spec V mods are too .. so i why do right to the cars credibility ..rather then trying to juice out 1000 bhps and such... if an average Gear head could get it out i am sure nissan could have too.. but there no point !!

what.a.car!! i wouldnt wana tune it up coz of loosing the waranty though! the standard spec gtr with launch control was timed at 3.3 and thats on a dry but slightly slippery surface(on the edmunds.com site). it could have gone even faster!! thats MAD. once the mods start coming out for this car over the next couple of years, what kinda times would it be doing with double the bhp?? the thing is, it not only can go fast, you know it will handle like a gem too.

i would keep it stock for the first three or so years until the warranty is up... AND THEN BOOST IT TO TEARS SO THAT I COULD SPIN ALL FOUR UP THE INTERSTATE!! GrrrraaAAAAAAAAAAAPSSSSST

It obviously has all of the ingredients found on cult cars. Kudos to Nissan and Renault for not watering down the original concept. With Spec V carbonfiber body and sportier exhaust it'd be perfect for open road fun.

desiathate is right here. Too much power is sometimes too much power when it comes to reliability or even cornering sometimes. Every aspect of an every car should be balanced properly.

and i thought Mine's has issues replacing the factory wheels and error lights appearing on the dash board b/c of it along with issues w/ aftermarket intakes
