Spied this week under some heavy camouflage is the new Renault Laguna four-door sedan. Coming this September to the Paris Motor Show, the four-door version of the hatchback will have a different set of headlights and taillights than its fastback sibling. In the pictures on the right side of the page We noticed what looks like a depression under the tarp where a sunroof would go, and what appears to be a spoiler at the back.
Above you can see the latest artist rendering of the sedan, which has a remarkably smooth line from front to rear. The large, almost panoramic back window integrates seemlessly with the boot to form a sleek, noteworthy tail end compared to other family cars. The artist also has taken into account the expectation that this model will be significantly longer than the five-door version.
Engine details are unconfirmed, but we expect most of the Laguna range of engines will be available. These include normally aspirated 1.6 liter and 2.0 liter petrol engines, and a turbocharged 2.0 liter petrol getting 110, 140, and 170 horsepower, respectively. Diesel engines include a 110 horsepower 1.5 liter, and three 2.0 liter optinos ranging from 130 to 175 horsepower.
Rumor has it the Coupe, set to debut sometime this year, may have a 3.0 liter diesel V6 getting anywhere from 230 to 250 horsepower. This should be considered as a possible option on the Renault Laguna Sedan.
