this is an astonishing car !!! The Veyron with it's 16 liter quad-turbocharger engine is only 47km/h faster (and it have only 2 seats :P)

afterace2 ur bad in maths, 340 + 47 is 387km/h, the bugatti is not 47 km/h faster than the hurricane, its 67km/h and that isn't a small difference. try doing 20km/h and another friend on ur side doing 87km/h, what would be the difference. recognizable?

yes, impressive for a sedan.
reminds me to some speedrecords of Brabus.
...who needs a veyron? there are better performance-sportscars and other very fast one. but what is impressive of 407 kph?

What G-Power has achieved is remarkable but don't ever compare that to a Bugatti Veyron.
Bugatti (VW) built the car all on its own. From transmission to the cooling, air induction to drag; everything was tested and tested and tested for years...
And it will last accordingly! The Bugatti is an engineering monument not to be eclipsed by some bolt-on supercharger tuning.
Repeat: I respect what G-Power has achieved but don't forget they haven't engineered the rest of the M5 :)
How about strapping these chargers to the M6? It's lighter and less air resistant. But that wouldn't be cool enough right?

For those who are more used to power being measured in horsepower (or if you are just wondering), 537kW is equivalent to 720 bhp. Goddamn, that's a lot of power. And you can take your kids with you.

I think that you'll find that when traveling at those speeds you need a massive exponential increase in BHP to go every 1 mph faster so there being a 47km/h difference between this and the Veyron is a massive leap in performance.
Also bare in mind that this car wont last long before the engine blows as it has a lot less tolerances that what a manufacturer would allow.

an estate version for the police would be cool- try out-running that!

Its a very normal thing that was done to this car.. It brings no wonder.. Im wondering why do some people get shocked.. It only has a monstrous engine.. Nothing about handling, track timing was revealed.. The more power the car will have, the faster it'll get.. Brabus did the same thing with the CLS and it was 2 kilometers faster than this one though it has 8 cylinders(362 kph).. It really is an astonishing number, but it can never come close to the Veyron in any kind of a way.. The car has to be equivalent to the 720hp in all the other fields..

Brabus Rocket CLS is 12 cylinders not 8. And the official speed record is 365.5km/h.
Here's the topic : http://www.worldcarfans.com/7061121.002/brabus-rockets-to-366km-h-world-recordAnd CLS is 730hp and of course is heavier then M5 so.... This is record only for the BMW cars!
And by the way 47 km/h over 350 is A LOT! .... and is not so simple to reach it!
February 4, 2008 3:19 pm
The record is actually the CMC (Currency Motors Car)Bmw M5 TT, with a top speed of 386 kph. However this is still and unoficial record.
February 4, 2008 3:43 pm
it is obvious this car is no match to the veyron techonolicly-wise but hey, look at the price, versitality and so on...
February 4, 2008 3:01 pm
All of you are right....Bugati is a pice of sh** agains this car....leak of engeniering
The OLD...VERY OLD McLaren F1 achive 390km/h whitout turbos....thats somthing....and VW dont know how to made a decent car....you have 4.2Lt engine and the car whight nearly 2tons...how stupid
February 4, 2008 4:14 pm
_M7_ you have lost your right to speak, oh yeah and umm they never made an M7 just in case you didnt know... lol
February 4, 2008 5:25 pm
after approximately 360km/h you need an additional 5hp to go an additional 1km/h faster, this number increases exponentially and is over 8hp for each additional kilometer after 375km/h, this makes 47km/h a huge gap in performance, theoretically speaking this car would need an additional 650hp to match the veyrons top speed! so please dont even compare a strap on supercharger to the best car in the world!

It's intersting question what lifetime warranty tuners are giving to this car? Veyron engine is design to do 400 km/h in everyday trip. I bet that this BMW is just toy for museum
February 4, 2008 6:12 pm
Nah.... Then that would be too easy for the average consumer to obtain.
February 4, 2008 8:54 pm
I think of this car as an ugly one in stuck but this one is much better looking for sure. I can't get used to a Japaneese looking German car. Say what you like but BMW looked so much better before. Too big of a chance in such a short time.

BMW shows VW and Merc stables yet again that you can squeeze lots of power from limited cc engines if you have the know how. Who needs 8 litres or 6.5 litres to get Godzilla power levels.Welcome to BMW top drawer enginering.
February 5, 2008 3:42 am
Yes for sure.....that's why BMW F1 team a huge disappointment from the same beginning..... :P

In 2006 Brabus Rocket clocked in new record for street-legal sedan at 362.4 km/h (225.2 mph)worlds-fastest-sedan
no bmw

Brabus Rocket! what kind of name is that. it probably would suit Buck Rogers. Who said BMW sucks in F1. They hold the record for the two quickest lap in F1, one set by Keke Rosberg in a 1.5 litre turbo BMW engine andthe other set by Juan Pablo Montoya also driving a BMW propelled Vehicle at Silverston. Remember that the all conquering Mclaren road car thatbroke record after record was powered by non other than BMW. Besides BMW is the only luxery car maker to enter F1 with full spec car (unlike Merc, using NMclaren and a red teams snatched data or VW). It would rather be nice to see the big 3 competing against each otherin F1. come on now.
