We're not sure if Kia's engineer in the rear seat is resting his finger or giving us a warm welcome to northern Europe. Either way, to the good folks at Kia: We love you, too.
Anyway, according to Wards Auto, Kia plans to unveil a brand new concept at the New York International Auto Show in March. One of our spy photographers caught the concept, with the vulgarian in the back seat, near the Arctic Circle. Described by Kia Motors America President Len Hunt as an offshoot of the Spectra, the concept should have a more sporty and aggressive styling than its real-world counterpart.
Seen here, the concept's interior is relatively normal for an entry-level four-door sedan, with cloth seats and some vinyl. The multi-function steering wheel is a bit of a luxury compared to the fairly run-of-the-mill interior.
We will have to wait until New York to see if this is a more realistic version of the Kee Concept unveiled last year at Frankfurt. If so, it is not unlikely that the new Kia concept will replace the current generation of Spectra in 2010.
