that is insane, the body is entirely made of Carbon fiber! and with 32 more hp 0-60 times will probably be getting scary close to 3s... one can only wonder if the price for spec V will be under 100 g's

Are there any orientative prices? I guess that all-carbon fiber body must be ordered with the car itself, otherwise costs are going to be prohibitive. Awesome beast!

its realy amazing .....but the one thing i didn't like it is the teptronic gear its not fully manual...

it i'll be the ultimate fun if they make it Manual

what do you mean its not manual. the triptronic has two manual speedshift settings (and a gear lever) and an automatic as well.

He obviously meant a manual transmission where you're full in control, aka real driving, clutching, unclutching, heel-toe, you know...

of course. it was so obvious.

MB.65 r u stupid? your obviously a noob. dont leave messages like that if you dont know what your talking about u fool. "speedshift" = your american, i guess tiptronic is the closest you'll ever come to a "manual". when people say manual, it refers to clutch pedal being involved with a gear lever where you select gears. skyline is tiptronic only. i so wish they had a manual option...maybe in the future?infact im so suprised they didnt! maybe it was so that they could get a faster 0-62 time like for the 911 (997) turbo with its faster 0-62 time coming from an automatic box.

some people just do not read and understand the specifications. the gt-r is equiped with double clutch 'manual' gearbox. the term 'tiptronic' or 'triptronic' whatever you want to call it comes from porsche who allowed their automatic gearboxes to be selected manually though paddle shifting or stick on a + and - mode. this car has a double clutch manual gearbox and for us to change the clutch you might need an extra leg haha so it is brilliant and i would not want it any other way. i will offer loads of fun like a manual gearbox becuase unlike an auto'oil' box, cummunication between the throttle pedal and wheel is mechanically link and uninterrupted. same technology as on the Bugatti Veyron.

aesthetics, Just because it isn't a traditional autobox with torque converter it doesn't make it manual, you just shift manually... or not (auto mode) which further proves the point. So call them double clutch robotized transmissions or sequential or w/e but not manual.

Ugly as any modified car without taste. Looks fast but toyish and cheap. Ferrari in the back, mitsubishi in the front.

Gee, if you knew anything about GTR's you would know that the rear end dates back decades to when the GTR was first released. The rear is a trademark of the GTR. Now the front, actually Mitsu, copied the GTR with its lancer, although, it was released first. I think the idea for mistu was that it got the idea off of audi. Of course it's only speculation, but the GTR's front end was first, then came the lancer.

What makes you think lancer copied GT-R when GT-R wasn't even released? OH they missed the production date?

I think it'll knock the 911 GT3 RS away.. If not the GT2... Monstrous engine, light weight.. Nissan engineering perfection.. Great Combination..

i agree.. boy would i like to see it against the GT2! if only it didnt weigh so more than a GT2 i would say it would easily win, but i would still put my bets on the skyline! nissan have done an awesome job. this car can take on supercars. i wonder how it would do against a F430 scuderia!

Leaked "BROCHURE"? Come on this is just a speculation from Best Car magazine. The title is way too optimistic.

speculation ? that is not a speculation...We already heard for manytimes v spec / evo version of the normal GT- R anyway this GT - R party is getting more awesome everytime, full carbon body ?omg, reprogrammed ATTESA- ET?omg,,,woahhhh,,perhaps they will have an 8speed dual clucth,,woahhh...GO NISSAN

Why do you need an 8-speed for 500 horses unless you want to keep some extra ratios in backup when others fail.

Ok maybe things are different here in America. For example, all Ferrari are now paddleshift but we still say that they have manual transmission. My misinformation doesn't call for you to be a ignorant fu*ck. Keep that crap to yourself next time.

Guys, let's not let our testosterone overwhelm our reasoning. I was a die hard manual shifter until paddles became faster. If you race you know it comes down to lap times. Don't argue with F1. The GTR is selling at $125000 here in Hong Kong, and 60 units have been sold within 2 weeks. Us die hards are holding out for the V spec.

When you buy a sportscar, it's all about enjoying driving, being in total sync with the car, not making laps or burnouts. Even the faster robotized transmissions will never replace the addictive ritual of a manual stick+clutch in (not racing) driving.

Too bad Joe_Limon..., Translation: They are gussing the GT-R v-spec to be produced in October or later because all the GT-R production has been delayed, Also because of full carbon body that this car will have, US$12k~13k is the price that they are looking in Japan's market...
January 31, 2008 4:22 am
 ck314 ck314
12K is reasonable, guess it will cost a bit more in europe, then again Renault could help with their partnership and logistics

wait, how is this going to beat the gt-2? less horses and more weight aare already working against it. and the gtr was unable to match the carrera gt's time around the ring. the gt2, on the other hand, did.

About the comment of the spec v running 3s in the 0-60...they already demonstrated 3.3 with the non spec gtr. The fricken baddest car ever.
