let's hope the batteries don't go on fire like they did in 2006... and my li-ion battery in my notebook is missing 50% of it's capacity after 8 month of heavy use...

Hmmm there was some progress with Lithium-based batteries recently. Some of the producers now have new separator membranes and other anode materials. This new kind of batteries needs less loading time, has no problems with temperature and has a much longer battery-lifetime.
