According to a study conducted by German magazine Manager-Magazin, Porsche is the company with the best image in Germany for the last eight years.

Tallying the votes of 2,500 representative chairmen, managing directors and chief executives, Porsche AG took first place in the comprehensive cross-branch “Imageprofile” survey that included 152 companies from ten branches of industry. This is the fifth consecutive time the German automaker has won the prestigious award, which is doled out once every two years.

The study was entrusted to the Institute TNS Infratest and BIK Marplan Intermedia, who investigated not only general impressions but five image-forming factors: ethical behavior, innovative strength, customer orientation, management quality, product and service quality.

The German automotive industry continued to defend its place on the winners’ podium, with BMW and Audi coming in second and third place, respectively. Adidas, Google, Coca-Cola, Hugo Boss and Nokia also finished in the top ten places in the survey. Volkswagen, who improved its ranking from 76 to 26, experienced the greatest positive image development over the last two years.

This is no brainer. Their price reflects exclusivity.

You can get a 987 Cayman/Boxster for a good 40k?, so you might want to put that VW Eos pricing list away?

Another study says the german 'dreamcars' are Mercedes, Audi and Volkswagen(!), for each brand 13 of 100 Germans said they would like to own. Only 5 want to rush with a Porsche over the autobahn.

Porsche is just cool, the little loser-company, that became so succesful and soon owns volkswagen - the german dream ;)

That be a German study, too? You see VWs everywhere and it get you fed up. The cars you're most likely to encounter at high speeds in the fast lane are Audi's Avant models.

Only 5 going for the Porsche? Did they say anything about financial backup so you don't have to worry about the costs of running one for years? I'm sure a lot more would go for 911s if they were able to compensate the costs that'd arise.

Yeah that would be anyones dream, man woman or child. Who care's if it's VW. It is the biggest automotive empire on earth valued into the 100s of billions. I know i would love to be the CEO of VW, find me 1 person who wouldnt so i can make fun of them to their face.

ceven,

yes, the question was, which car you'd like to own whatever it costs.

That result could be easily biased: what if most of the interviewed ppl were family men and soccer moms? Remember how "square-minded" the germans are.
