Despite the Italian manufacturer constantly denying they are working on a successor to the Ferrari Dino, there is no denying the fact they are working on some kind of baby Ferrari under a different name, possibly the GT420 or 470.

The new baby Ferrari will be based on a shortened platform of the Maserati GranTurismo which it will share with the Maserati GT Cabriolet, our sources also claim it will be in convertible form with a folding hardtop and the debut is likely to be at this years Paris Motor Show.

The image above shows an artists rendering of what the final production might look like.

I like these lines. They make the car more outstanding This look is good for a Ferrari. I prefer Maserati-design, but with a sexy back the "Dino" whould be nice too

Well... from the rendering, I don't see anything special about Ferrari. It's just a Porsche-boxter/Chrysler-looking with a Ferrari's badge. What was Dino's specialty that they think? I think there's no need for over 400ps because F430 has more but must be lightweight, distinctively designed and beautifully dynamic in lines. Ferrari fan would be disappointed unless they make a piece of art that will deserve to be displayed in the Ferrari Museum.

It looks too German for a Ferrari, and is not attractive, at all. Ferrari needs to get away from this 612/ 599 based design concept, it's just so wrong! I hope Ferrari can, once again, make their cars looks as goods as they really are on the inside.

successor to the dino, or maybe to replace the 430, it seems timely no? dino projected to about 2010 or so, so the replacement would seem appropriate

If you take a look at the earlier renderings and use a little imagination, it's not a too greater leap of faith to compare the new Dino impressions with the Alpha Romeo '8C Competizione'. Especially as both vehicles have very close ties to Maserati. There is certainly a lot of similarities in the overall styling and I wouldn't be surprised if they use the same chasis. Have a closer look... A few modifications to the front and rear ends of the '8C Competizione', to provide conformity with current Ferrari 599/612 models and there you have it... the New Ferrari Dino. Particularly, as Alpha have just published pictures of the 8C Spider... I think the similarities are more than consiquence and too obvious to ignore.
