Does anyone know if this is the same car as is marketed in Europe as the Daihatsu Materia? The xB seems a little bigger to me!

as far as I know, no. But Toyota is planning to bring it to Europe branded as a Toyota.

I think this is really good. Not so different then than the other xBs, but this is both a looker and a quasi-statement.

The Daihatsu Materia is sold in EU and Japan and is heavily based on the current Toyota bB only sold in Japan but in EU with a much more basic spec and seperate front seats. The previous bB was basically the same as the previous Scion xB. Now the Toyota Rumion just came out in JP and that seems to be a JP version if the current Scion xB.

Hope you payed attention because there will be a test next week ;-)

Has anyone sat in one of these? I did, it's not that great for the price. You're all high up and you have to sit too far forward due to the fact there is no telescoping wheel. You would think that a Toyota made car would try to improve it's MPG's over it's predecessor. But I guess all Americans want is more power. And all the car companies want to do is give our $$$ to the Saudis. Sucks.

Follow up to last comment-I test drove one of these. It was surprisingly decent. The car drove well and I was in fact able to find a comfortable sitting position although I still would like a telescoping steering wheel. I would consider buying if MPG's were higher. Scion should drop engines with higher MPG's (hybrid or smaller) in all their cars. I currently have a Civic Hybrid (getting like 46 highway) and the only other car I would consider replacing it with is the Prius (2010 Prius is predicted to get 84 mpg-get on line).

PS-If you're speeding, stop complaining about the price of gas. You obviously don't don't give a sh@t.
