That is disgustingly inexpensive.
Here (Germany) you get a fully equipped for a listed price of just EUR 85,265.00. That's the coupé.
If you can live without this and that, you might end up buying one with less fancy equipment for circa EUR 60,000. ?. That's like ... 88,800 ?.
126,192.00 ? for the fully equipped one. sic!

The MSRP might be 54k or so, but knowing BMW, after options and other goodies, the car will be around 65k or so before taxes, and that is for the sedan. As for the Coupe I believe it will be around 70k with options and such. This is just speculations from me, but we all know that european car manufacturers like BMW love to have lots of options like making leather optional as well, in which, it would quickly rise up the price. Only time will tell, but remember the lexus is 56k base, which, is pretty much fully loaded. All you need is the mark levinson/dvd option and that would put you around 59k or so and it is fully loaded. Plus the options on the lexus is already announced and that is pretty much it aside from a little bit more.

The US pricing makes me sick. Why do they pay bugger all for a new M3 when here in Australia we pay $170000 for the coupe ($149000 US). It is a practice that really has to stop. Either make the cars a similar price in the UK, euro and Aus markets or charge more in the US.
I don't care how "big" the US market is....combine the UK Uuro and aus markets and we'd kill the US.
If we had LHD cars here in aus I guarantee motorists would be privately importing the M3 from the states in their thousands.

You've got to remember, that Australia has high taxes to look after our diminishing motor industry. The sooner the stop making cars in australia the better. We have import duty, Luxury car tax, GST, stamp duty, ETC. US especially has a motor industry and it doesn't hurt them. But don't blame BMW wholely for our pricing. They are a "franchise" of BMW to so its about buying power.

Wrong BMWil.
Before ANY taxes are applied to the M3 it has a list price of Aus$125000. Then you add Luxury tax and GST on top of that price.
The US pricing equates to aus$61,898.40 and aus$64,960.71 respectively.
So we end up paying double BEFORE tax for our M3.
Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Makes me proud to live in the USA, especially in Southern California, where the weather is awesome year round to enjoy these cars. =) I wonder how much 911 turbos' cost in the UK or Australia and converted to US currency?

well, german car buyers have to pay up to 30% more even compared to other EU countries, like Italy. that is why it is common to import from there na dsofe some bucks.
also as ferrariguy put right that price is always without the salestax than can range from 0% in Portland to 10.5% in Chicago, plus title, delivery etc. so you have to add that to the equation and then its not that far off anymore.
On the other hand euro cars for sale in the US are well equipped compared to the ones sold in Germany where they charge even for a little light iluminating the mirror in your sun visor...
now that is sick.
the option list in Germany is about 30 pages and in the US about 3 pages, without denying anything, most is simply already standart.

Couldn't agree more. This is why i have to laugh when some Americans say that we have it so bad when it comes to price. We pay a lot less for many goods, especially things related to vehicles (petrol, some car parts etc...) and especially the novelty cars (like m3 and audi rs4). The kicker is people still complain.
But the only thing that is ok to complain about is the quality of our vehicles. Heck Americans can build quality cars every were else except for America.
Back on track: this BMW has some nice specs but bland design for an m3
