While its not an ugly vehicle, in fact, I think it looks better than the new Highlander, I'm confused as to where it slots in the Toyota lineup. "It has the refinement and comfort of an Avalon, SUV capability of a Highlander and the value of a Camry" So is it to compete with a Rav4, the Highlander, the Sequoia? I dont get it, Toyota already has two crossover vehicles and two traditional SUV's, did they need another? Arent they poaching from their own stock on this? And obviously with the 3.5 V6 in play this vehicle is meant for the US market ....again, I just dont get it. Someone help me out?

Maybe they'll phase out the 4Runner for this? Maybe not. But the headlight sort of resembles that of Ford Edge.

"Venza will slot below the Highlander and above the RAV4. it likely will be aimed at such mid-priced domestic models as the Ford Edge and the Chevrolet Equinox." Sourced from Edmunds. It looks as big as Highlander though.

This concept is a joke...it is merely a toyota badged version of the Lexus RX350...nothing new here except the uglier grill.

sorry, but i don't see any single element that would remind the RX350

umm It could be a prefiguration of the new RX platform though, just speculating here. Otherwise, nice looks for a Toyota but somehow boring/déjà vu overall.

Anyone care to remember a long-gone car trying to act like a truck... The U.S. market AMC Eagle. At least this attempt is better looking than the Eagle was in its day. If it were going to replace anything in the Toyota lineup I would have guessed the last generation Highlander but that already has a replacement. It's rather bland IMO. At first when I saw it I thought there must be room for a third row but when you get down to it all they have done is taken a Camry and make it taller... Venza Dimensions: DIMENSIONS (inches) Overall Length: 189.0 Overall Width: 75.0 Overall Height: 63.4 Wheelbase: 109.3 Ground clearance: 8.1 Camry Dimensions: (from Toyota.com) Overall height, unloaded 57.9 Overall width 71.7 Overall length 189.2 Wheelbase 109.3 Ground clearance 5.5 Track (front/rear) 62.0/61.6 Coefficient of drag (Cd) 0.28

Having done projects for university on Toyota there is a huge amount to like and respect about Toyota Corporation but styling is not one them. The iQ is a cool looking car and the European Celica was a sharply styled car but apart from those two Toyota design is terminally dull. I would love to know the effect on sales if it had some styling verve like Opel have nowadays. Toyota's reputation of reliability plus some sexy styling could be even better for it.
