R10 TDI very succesful? If you look only at Le Mans yes. But they surely got a run for their money from the 'little' Porsche LMP2 in the US this year :-) So much they are pushing for rule changes to make LMP2 slower. A bit of a lame way of practicing sports according to me. R8 looks good though.

Hopefully they use more composite material to compensate weight gain. If that's the case, it's going to be a true (driveable) rocket on wheels.

The front is different with the splitter and bigger air vents, the side skirts are different, the rear bumper has bigger vents, the exhaust has been changed, the roof is completely new.

The engine will of course make this a sort of projectile thing, but the handling's still gonna suck. Squealing tires. :(

Ceven, Handling will not suck :) Audi's quattro will take care of any squealing, you wait and see. This is going to be one of the greatest cars ever.

Yes there is. A light car, which is incompatible with diesels, especially V12s.

Why do you assume that just because it is a diesel it will be heavy? This engine probably only weights slightly more than the 4.2 V8 and has ridiculous low end torque. I will bet that this TDI will be faster than the current R8 and handle better. Audi has been making crazy race cars for over 80 years, they wouldn't put a diesel in their top of the line sports car if they were unsure about the performance and that it would be better than the 4.2 V8.
