Toyota Avensis Sedan Spied
Just a few days a go we showed you the first shots of the Toyota Avensis Wagon, now the sedan version has come out in the open and our spies were ready with these first spy photos.
The Avensis has been on the market since 2003 with a facelift in 2006 and from these shots we can see development of the all new model is well underway.
Exterior details are hard to define due to the heavy camouflage, but interior wise there are rumours there will be an Auris inspired raised gear-lever, and the Japanese manufacturer are said to be working on a new diesel hybrid engine,
The New Avensis will be launched in 2009 with the Geneva Motor Show that same year a likely debut date.

looks a little sharper, but rather like Toyota has caught up just as the game begins to move on... not doubt very competent but hardly looks like it'll raise the pulse

Toyota may be looking to become No1 motor manufacturer, but if it keeps producing cars which are boring to look at (Auris)with interiors that lag behind WORLD CLASS STANDARDS Avensis, than no matter how good the hybrid engine is....the package will be incomplete. Also, this is fact, Toyota hardly use to do safety recalls on their vehicles, now these have become commonplace, the Auris interior is POOR compared to the previous offering....look at the handbrake design...badly placed....the metallic centre console look cheap and will scratch easily...again does not bode well for the brand. I think Toyota has taken their eye off what they were good (solid dependable cars) to chase the No1 spot....which as GM has found can be easily lost! if you are not too careful in the design/quality of the products.
Toyota....you have a clean white sheet in front of you....don't go dull and grey....you have lost the flair since the original MR2 days...I have never purchased a Toyota...but always admired that they produced decent quality vehicles...but that seems to be lost at the moment.

exactly BANTER, Toyota shouldn't think that number 1 space is everything. I NEEDS new MR2s, Celicas and Supras or it'll just be an old persons marque

problem is that it's not to difficult to guess what the car will look like under all that camo - far too predictable - don't know why they use camo anyway
