US Pricing for 2008 Lexus IS F Announced

US Pricing for 2008 Lexus IS F Announced
2008 Lexus IS F

Almost exactly a year since Lexus first introduced the IS F high performance sport sedan at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show, we finally get official pricing and at a recommended retail price of $56,000 there will surely be no shortage of takers. The main rival to the Lexus IS F will be the BMW M3 which will be launched in the US this coming Spring and will likely be priced a little higher at $62,500.

Powered by a performance tuned 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 416 horsepower ,the Lexus IS F is the first of what could be a line of new models to wear the “F” badge and is the fastest Lexus ever built. It accelerates from 0 to 60mph in just 4.6 seconds (thats quicker than the M3) and can reach a top speed of 170mph.

There is still no word on exactly when the IS F will be launched in the USA but after this announcement we expect it to be soon.

$62,500 for an M3? That's a steal! They retail for roughly ????55,000 over here. How do car companies get away with that?

We have the same price problem in Canada. Americans, 60km south of Montreal, pay less for Honda and Toyota cars, some of which are made in Canada, than Canadians. Guess it has to do with the weak US$

The price difference between the US and the UK is mainly because of something they call "TAX".. They pay "a lot" for it, and thats the main reason.

Sub39. I think cars are generally cheaper in the USA because of the weak US$. Honda and Toyota cars are cheaper in the USA than Canada even when they are made in Canada. It's creating a lot of anger here. USA is often less than 60KM south of here.
