Almost undisguised

It has been a while since the facelifted Porsche Boxster and Cayman were caught out in the open. Today we have laid our hands on the latest, and maybe last, spy photos of the revised Porsche Boxster and Porsche Cayman.

The current Porsche Boxster underwent a facelift back in 2004 and the new revision is expected to reach markets in 2008. Judging by these images, Porsche is almost done.

The Porsche Cayman has only been on the market since the 2006 model year, so the facelift comes a little early in its life-cycle, but we are not complaining. The Cayman front end changes in multiple ways, firstly LED-daytime driving lights are added, front headlamps change shape slightly and the foglights move to the outer corners of the revised front bumper. The middle air intake in the bumper has grown too.

Our sources expect to see direct-injection engines, just like on the 911 facelift.

[Note] Some strips of tape around the lights have been removed by computer.

The philosophy of reduction... amazing! I could complain obviously there didn't changed a lot, but I have to say, now I really adore this car..

Porsche has done a lot of facelifting on its cars lately and more frequently. I personally think it's unneccessary. They already look good and don't need frequent refreshing. Porsche refreshes its cars more than Toyota now it seems.

The worked on the rear a little. Front still looks as if it's from the 90's.

don't care for the glazed rear tail lens; the current clear lens is much more befiting.

When is/are the Boxster (and Cayman/Carrera) going to get direct fuel injection? I'd like to replace my 7 year old Boxster with a new S but want this to be confirmed first (want to carry on getting 30mpg!). They all need the power and economy hike, BMW are leaving them behind for these (130i, 135i etc.) and Audi are starting to. Also it could just get the Boxster S under the London emission charge rate (225gm) if they engineered it right.
