The current generation Mercedes S Class has been on the market since 2005 and for the first time we have shots of the facelifted version which will likely be launched by the end of 2009. The car pictured has only light camouflage covering the front headlights which show strong hints of a similar design to the recently revealed SL Class facelift, but with so long to go before the launch date, we should expect to see further modifications such as a redesigned front facia.

probably to stop others from copying them
i think this is just new headlight setup testing... new curve light stuff technology maybe...
hah That dude must be cornering hard to get such a pose... Looks like a hurried carjacker lol Unfortunately MB's usually slow to come up with the latest stuff *unless* theyre the author. The S-Class should have featured standard daylight LEDs from the start.
slow to come up with the lastest stuff? you ever heard of abs, 3 point seat belts, crumple zones, airbigs, traction control? probably not because you think LED's are the lastest craze.
Do you seriously concieve a 2009 face-lift with stone-age looking yellowish bulbs?
Can't you read? I clearly said unless they're the ones behind it. And it's not about the latest craze, LEDs are here to stay. MB's contributions to safety and engineering are outstanding, but they simply can't be the first at everything (ie they're somehow behind competitors regarding direct injection engines [BMW, Audi], or hybrid solutions [Lexus]).
I feel bad for the people that have to keep up with all these changes.
I don't think this gerneration S class beautiful enough to catch up with its price
guruixuan , you know nothing about cars. just wait to see the final design.
let MB DESIGN TEAM to do it best.i hope that final model is really nice
A facelift already!!?? I don´t think so.....Only if they are afraid of the next BMW 7 series......
What's there to be afraid of? this is the S class we're talking about.
I don't think the car needs a facelift. It's still new and still looks good. German-cars lover, silversedanman, because a guy doesn't like a design doesn't mean he doesn't know car you stupid! It's all preference, to each his own. Stop playing MB defender. They don't need you. I'm so sick of you Sh*t
