Increase power to 185 bhp

Thanks to a new association with Mountune, a motorsport specialist run by Roush UK, the Ford Fiesta ST can now be boosted to 185 bhp. The kits do not affect the vehicle warranty and are available from selected Ford dealers (London, Bristol, Birmingham, Warrington and Castleford) from March 1 2008 onwards.

There are two packages available, Mountune Performance Stage 1 package retails at GBP 1,435 and consists of a high-flow air induction system, high performance exhaust system including high flow catalyst and tubular manifold and re-calibration of the 2.0 liter Duratec ST engine resulting in a power increase to 165 bhp. The Mountune Performance Stage 2 package costs GBP 1,838 and adds new camshafts and valve springs to delvier 185 bhp.

The Ford Fiesta ST was the first Ford to carry the Sports Technologies badge and made its debut at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show. Later in 2008 Mountune will offer additional kits for other Ford ST models.

This is actually a very nice move, both clever and gentle at the same time.

Stage 2 performance enables eating competitors, especially the Polo GTi and Citroen C2 VTS (both ~150hp). And that is good. The mark IV Golf GTi would also easily become a victim. :D

Performance upgrades are also available for the Focus II ST and the now available face lift ST. Power goes up a little to 260hp, if I remember that right. The good thing: available for the last, non-facelifted Focus ST as well.

The Fiesta ST is just looking too nice, too gentle. Not very sporty for my style. In this class I think that the Renault Clio Sport 200hp is the meanest. VW Polo GTI is good, but I like the SEAT Ibiza Cupra 180hp beter.

Lucky Barstards Regulations in Australia limit that sort of stuff hear, meaning if I wanted to have my Focus reach 260BHP i would have to de-register the vehicle and have an engerneirs certificate, that alone is (Aussie Dollars)$5000 than with the cost of mods hear it would just be cheaper to buy something that comes stock with that sort of power
