I would've expected them to replace the kompresser with the naturally aspirated 6.3 for this facelift. Wonder why they didn't.

you may correct me if I am wrong but... The SLK 55 is aready a normally aspirated V8 no kompressor in 2 years I believe. and the second part to your question is the car is fast enough, without it having to compete with the weight and heft and price point of the new SL63, I think mercedes benz want a distinction between the models and the major price differences between the tow cars, but I could be wrong

A 5.5 litre normal aspirated V8 engine delivering 360bhp is not much but that's what Mercedes-Benz is able to do without kompressors or turbos, I guess.

Actually the reason everyone is so disappointed is because they know Mercedes can do much, much better than that. Even their non-performance 5.5L in the SL550 already pushes somewhere between 389 and 400BHP with nice torque delivery to boot. Even their SOHC engines are still on par with many DOHCs; this is most likely just marketing and economics at work ruining engine potential.

Two things as an owner of an slk, 1) it is to short looking, and 2) you would think by now they would have found a way to delete that cheezy antenna!!! Dont remember how many I have lost or had taken from me at the car wash employees either theft or carelesness benzboy
