The long awaited new generation Lancia Delta is now on schedule for June 2008. According to Le Blog Auto the official presentation is planned for Geneva Motor Show in March .
The new Delta will resemble the Delta HPE concept(pictured above), presented at Paris Motor Show in 2006. Hence, it will keep the length at 4500 mm unchanged, and 2700 mm wheelbase as well. So far it is known the engines will have power between 120 hp and 200 hp. FIAT Auto will put Delta on the top of its brands range, above the Bravo
The Lancia Delta is a small family car produced by Lancia from 1979 to 1994. It was first shown in Frankfurt Motor Show in 1979. The first Delta was a five-door hatchback designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and released in 1979. For a period of time, it was also sold in Sweden by Saab Automobile, badged as the Saab 600. The most famous model was the Delta HF Integrale, a four-wheel drive hot hatch with a powerful turbocharged petrol engine. A tuned version of the HF dominated the World Rally Championship, scoring 46 WRC victories overall and winning the Constructors Championship a record six times in a row from 1987 to 1992. Nevertheless, FIAT Auto is not a confirmed WRC return for Lancia.
