beautiful is right...i wish the made a manual trans for these AMG's, it is kinda depressing that they don't

The automatic can actually be switched to making use of the speedshift paddles behind the steering wheels. Not exactly the same as a manual but close enough. Mercedes seems to have something against 100% manuals, even the SLR has an automatic.

First mercedes in a long time that is stunning from every angle. I think the new C is the best looking small lux sedan from germany for 2007-08.

the front bumpers design is the most beautiful in recent AMGs but why dont they use same cls63 engine ?

Total agreeance Pentium. I've driven the C280 and thought it was great, apart from being a little under-stated and a lot underpowered. The C63 would be the best compromise between small luxury sedan and weekend track blaster

The C 63 AMG is as big as an accord.Looks like the compacts are getting bigger and bigger!!

c63 is an awesome car, but overall performance and real driving car is still an M3,an M3 has sharp handling

This option, for the family man who lives in high traffic cities, but loves his power on the open road, seems as sensible as the Mitsu Evo X. Different cars yes, but similar in purpose; semi-auto, driveable, powerful, sits 4 - 5 adults, carries suitcases etc.

Agreed. Only difference here is that the C63 has about a gazillion times the class and looks at least a few thousand times better than even the new Evo, and I'm a fan of Mitsubishis. I mean, holy friggin' goodness....

MARG, it actually IS the same engine, the 6.2 V8. They just map it differently for different applications.
December 24, 2007 5:21 am
They don't really "map" this one differently - it's just detuned to 457HP. In fact I don't think Mercedes does to much remapping of their engines, as most of them produce the same amount of HP and torque wherever they're used....
