Finnish Language Writer Wanted

WorldCarFans.com is one of the world's leading on-line auto enthusiasts magazines featuring daily editorial coverage of emerging news and industry headlines. As a well-established worldwide leader, WorldCarFans.com plans to break new boundaries in Finland with a Finnish language version currently in development and seeks an ambitious full-time or part-time Finnish language journalist or serious writer who is looking for an exciting news team environment to report daily stories for Finnish and global markets.

The successful writer must be a passionate auto enthusiast who is up to date with the latest events and car models in the auto industry. The writer must have excellent Finnish writing skills which include excellent spelling, punctuation and grammar. Office communication language is English.

Training will take place in our Sörnäinen office or remotely via email and chat. Working hours are flexible. There will be opportunities to travel to major international auto shows abroad. Photography skills desired but not required. Freelancer with toiminimi preferred. Journalism experience preferred. Journalism students welcome to apply.

Please email your C.V. with 3 sample news stories written in Finnish language about recent automotive news topic (150 to 300 words per story) as if there were to appear on WorldCarFans.com. Requirements:

• Must have strong spoken English

• Expert knowledge of the global automobile industry and all mainstream car models

• Must have own computer with broadband Internet connection

• Basic understanding of HTML tags

• Basic photo editing skills

• MS Word or OpenOffice Word Processor proficiency

• Strong Internet research skills

Job duties:

• Search news sources, which we provide or you find

• Identify breaking news stories

• Download photos and text (if necessary)

• Write story:

  • Summarize main points

  • Highlight relevancy to related stories

  • Criticize or comment

  • 100 to 300 words

  • Proof read

• Upload story to WCF using company's web management system
