im glad this emblem is just for the markets mentioned.
its too weak and there is no coherent message there. it looks like there are too many things going on with the hexagon being "forced" within the wings.
too heavy handed.

I think Hyundai should launch it as the Genesis something- like Lexus and Infiniti- a premium branch, if they sell it as a Hyundai I don't think it will succeed, but as the Genesis Seoul (or something) maybe

lol...when you think about it... so ridiculous... imagine we Europeans/Americans would have to call our companies "tschingtschangtschung" or something like that with asian letters... haha!

This is rip off. That emblem resembles that of the Mini. Why on earth would they want to copy others companies emblems ???

asif, I think they are crying because of the mirrors in their bathrooms...
The emblem shows a mix of Bentley and Mini...

Branding is the most important subject for all car manufacturers. Hyundai can stand a chance creating the Genesis brand.

I could care less about korean cars. They just simply suck the big one, I wouldn't buy one

Wow, a symbol creates this much drama?
I agree that branding is one of the most important part of selling an up-market vehicle. Lexus and Infiniti prove this theory. I really do think that Hyundai should think about Genesis as a brand, not as a Hyundai. Outside of Korean or Asian markets it could be a bit too muddled of a message.
Another thought for you all to consider: Just a decade ago Hyundai could barely make a decent sedan or hatch... and they are leaping past the American brands and many of the European brands in initial quality surveys. Watch out... the Koreans are coming faster than you think!

Hyundai, the transformers called and they would like to have their emblem back! I'm telling you, these chinese people are so funny, they can copy anything and everything. Get a life hyundai

I think that South Koreans would be a little upset to be called Chinese given those nations history.
December 5, 2007 7:31 am
If those korean people be upset simply because they were called chinese on purpose, imagine how would the japanese car companies feel about hyundai copying their designs? Huh?

Man, it's just some stylistic inspiration on a car.
Anyway most people gone on about how German executive cars are so great but they (with the exception of Smart and the original Merc A-class) are hardly stylistically adventurous. I mean look at the hatred directed at Chris Bangle to begin with.

If you look at the definition of Genesism, one of them is as follows.
The coming into being of something
Hyundai has made it pretty well known that it's going to be the luxury division of the Hyundai/Kia alliance. The build quality has made leaps and bounds in the past decade since they stopped using Mitsubishi bits. Genesis for this new sedan/coupe is a very suitable name. I can't wait for them to hit the showroom floor so I can get my hands on one and see for myself. I find it highly entertaining that many people think the South Koreans cannot make a decent luxury vehicle and won't even give them a chance because of past problems. I'd buy a Hyundai before I bought a Chrysler product.
