Volkswagen of Germany have opened up a new website showcasing a teaser in film format that reveals the few shots of the new Passat Coupe VW presently wish to broadcast, the camera panning around the new four-door from front grille to roofline and bootlid.

Spied earlier this year, the new Passat Coupe is set for a Geneva Motor Show debut and will boast an initial two-engine line-up, a 160 hp 1.8-litre turbocharged TSI unit and a 300 hp R36 model featuring four-wheel-drive. Further engine options are expected Autumn next year.

Joining the four-door coupe market as a more attainable rival to the CLS, the Coupe will be joined in coming years by Audi's planned A7 Coupe, bridging the gap between A6 and A8 ranges, as well as a forthcoming 7-Series based Coupe model from BMW.

Visitors can sign up to a newsletter for first details due to arrive in 2008 on the new Coupe model, but regardless we're sure to bring you the news here first.

Are Audi and BMW collaborating or is this just a poorly written article?

Well, if they sell this in the US above $30K, it will fail. So far, I've been reading "affordable CLS" so that sounds like $40K range. Again, US customers would rather have a more prestigious BMW 3-Series or Mercedes C-Class or even Audi A4 than a same-priced VW.

America rocks! I was there on a weekend, however, I think it could be succesful in the US. The people drive overprized, ugly Toyotas, Nissan or even Hondas there with so ridicolously names like "Lexus" or "Infiniti"... realize it people, VW rocks!
