Based on Azeal Concept

The Nissan GT-R has managed to get quite some blood pumping. Firstly it has exceeded prelimenary order expectations and subsequently boosted the Skyline coupe sales and now it has spun off a new rumour about the return of the Nissan Silvia / 240 SX / 200 SX / 180 SX. Whatever the name might be, RocketPunch claims to have confirmation that Nissan will return to the scene with the two seater by 2010.

With the demise of the Nissan Silvia/240SX in 2002 Nissan have left a gaping gap in their sports car line-up. The 350Z might be a good bang-for-your-buck but is not exactly cheap either, so there is definitely room for a lower-end fun-to-drive coupe. The new Silvia is rumoured to be build on the new 'Z' RWD platform and may be powered by a Renault engine (we can only hope for the 230 hp 2.0 liter turbo from the Renault Megane F1 Team R26).

Autoblog.nl figures the renderings are based on the Foria concept from 2005, but we think it resembles more of the Azeal Concept. Only time will tell whether any of this is true but rest assured that we will bring you all the latest news when it becomes available. A rear shot artist rendering can be found after the source link.

it looks pretty good but ot jusy isnt speactacular really. i hope its not this one as it may date quite quickly too. it doesnt look particularyly small either which i think the azeal was. even the foria looks smaller. i reckon it should have knockout styling, be fairly compact and have a great price, not forgetting benchmark performance. Nissan can easily do it!

i think the first and third renderings are very nice and stylish, but the rendering in the middle, ugh!!! thats one ugly car in my opinion. i hope that if they bring back the 240 SX / 200 SX / 180 SX line it doesn't look like the one in the middle.

nice car and rear wheel drive too. 2+2 as well. i wonder if they'll adopt the dual clutch system from the gt-rand mount the box at the back, thatwould be a dream. turbo could be a bit dull though.

That rendering looks too big and heavy to be any fun with a 2L 230hp turbo. I don't think nissan's lineup has room for a 240sx. the g37,350z and altima coupe cover the sector quite nicely.

Nissan desperately needs a new design language.

Speaking as an s15 owner, these renderings are a big turn off, better to leave it dead than bring it back as one those ugly things, and a renault engine, no freaking way.

None of these car renderings deserve to be called a silvia or contain the 'sx' letters! if it try super hard i can see a lil and i mean a lil silvia in the 2nd rendering but it's still ugly. Either way if it is built on a 'z' chassis then its not a silvia DUH! Silvia's were made on the 's' shassis ( s12, s13, s14, s15)

Bit late to comment, but it'd damn sure better be an S design. I'd like to see an updated version of the s14a/Kouki, myself--s15 was nice, but not my favorite. No real comment on the engine, but I don't care if it's Renault or not. To be honest, I'd be fine if they just rolled it out with an SR20DET like the old Silvias, although I wouldn't be averse to an updated SR engine.

you all know that if you read underneath the pictures only the first picture is supposed to be the "new" 240sx none of the others have anything to do with the 240. they date back to '05. and the new 240 will look a lot better than any render
