In soft-top disguise

We fully appreciate the intelligence of BMW and Rolls-Royce engineers, but they can't fool us. See, this is not the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe but actually the all new Rolls-Royce Coupé.

Rolls-Royce has done well to disguise their newest addition to the range by making it look like an outgoing model. But the gas cap in the B-pillar is quite a give-away that this is not a soft-top but indeed a car with a solid metal roof.

The new coupe focusses on powerful driving, instead of 'cruising down the boulevard' like the Drophead Coupe did, and follows the trend of car manufacturers branching out. The new coupe will have some stiff competition from the Bentley Brooklands and Continental GT. Truth be told, the Bentley's have the Rolls beat on looks alone, but R-R prestige has its own appeal.

Expect the 101EX Concept to make a triumphant return to Geneva next spring two years after its debut, but this time as a production model.

no way, Rolls Royce would never put a M series engine in the Phantom coupe. Rolls Royce is purely about luxury and quality, performance always comes second. And I would take this coupe over the drophead any day. 'ragtops' are not meant for 430K+ ultra luxury convertibles. And hondaboy22, have you ever been inside, driven or even seen either. If no, stop stating your opinions like facts.

I agree with MBAMG12, statements made with no knowledge just for the hell of it are uncalled for. Personally the Rolls Royce brand sits in my mind as the end all be all for luxury automobiles. And the phantom is plenty fast to start with theres no reason in turning it into a supercar.

an "M" engine in a RR, not that would be funny. RR's are for comfort and style, or least some people think so. At least it is a fairly unique design, still ugly but better than that failed MB oh i mean maybach.

I wouldn't buy something like this even if I had 1 bn $. Maybach and RR are for people who want to compensate for their small d....

Herr Maybach invented the auto I think his company has the right to decide if the ragtop belongs on an ultra-luxury car. And indeed it does. Wind noise remains to a minimum with the top down and is quieter than most hardtops when the top is down. Rolls-Royce isn't as luxurious or technologically advanced as Maybach, even top gear admitted it.

What does Herr Maybach inventing the car (which he of course didn't) have to do with anything. Ragtops were a thing of the past. Its time to move on to modern technology such as retractable hardtops which are definetley not louder than ragtops. Stop making up stuff to sound smart.

Rolls-Royce is better than Maybach. Due to its pure luxury and refinement.

Define "better" please.

Please state which features are more luxurious than a Maybach in a Rolls Royce. Interior noise in a maybach is .5 decibel quieter at 50km/h, 1.5 decibels quieter at 100km/h, and 3 decibels quieter at 150km/h. Ride quality is known to be smoother in maybach. Photo electric sunroof not available in rolls royce. Rolls royce seats are not fully reclinable. Rolls royce does not have as much interior room in the rear seats or the front. Rolls royce has less than 500hp and maybach available with over 600hp. I'm too lazy to get more facts but please advise me of exact components which are better on rolls royce like I have for maybach.

No way the Maybach has a better ride than the Phantom. Every single comparison I read said that the Phantom had a smoother ride and has easier steering. The Phantom also got overall higher ratings than the Maybach. And you're not looking at the important stuff (Photoelectric sunroof, reclinable seats (the Phantom has available bucket seats but has standard bench seats for the sake of tradition). The Phantom is an icon of luxury and tradition, and thats what people look for in such luxury cars. Its all a matter of opinion, you think what you want.

Exactly, it's understandable to post here everyday with different names since he doesn't have a job, a girlfriend, friends, and a car. I excuse him completely for that.

I rather be in Scarlette and then after ask her to buy me the normal phantom, the convertible, and the coupe. She can afford to buy all 3 for her lover. Although this car puzzles me y would you buy the coupe if it looks exacly like the convertible but without the advantage of being able to put ur top down and show off ur blonde 18 year old russian gf?

Rolls-Royce engine actually based on BMW V12. It is really smooth than the grumpy tubrocharged Maybach's V12 (developed by Mercedes's AMG).
