The C Class Sport Coupe has been spotted again, after last weeks revealing spy photos we now have more photos as well as a new illustration. The sportcoupe's name is likely to be replaced by the somewhat easier “CLC” badge.

Based on the same platform as the outgoing C Class, the new CLC shows similar design characteristics as the C Class sedan. But this new generation is going have a tough time in what has been become a hugely competitive market due to the recent introduction of the 300hp BMW 1 Series Coupe, not to mention the Audi A3.

The previous model received a facelift in 2004, so we expect to see the CLC debut sometime during 2008.

A very masculine design which gets it cues from the new 2008 C-Class Mercedes-Benz. I've heard that they want to make a CLC 500 which will use a tuned down V8 to compete with the BMW 135.

yea ok hondaboy22. stop making up rumors. first of all, it would be a 550, mercedes moved on from 500s a while ago. Secondly, there is no point in putting a V8 in an econonmy class mercedes, unless it was an AMG 6.3, which would also be stupid. They have never put a V8 in a C class except for an AMG, and I'm not expecting them to anytime soon. So stop making up rumors just for attention.

if they use a V8, the BMW 135i will winn because it will be much lighter than the Mercedes

And the truth is that the BMW always try to race with Mercedes in some stupid game created by themselves. But people around the world are not stupid.... every body can see the deference...everything else is a mater of taste and personel opinion.... :)

I don't know why it is called CLC, but what ever Mercedes-Benz do, it is good enough.

To whoever this concerns, Mercedes-Benz has no competitor as they are in their own league. As well as the Mercedes Maybach has no competitor, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class is the only Mercedes-Benz you can compare to other companies like bmw, audi vw and all that other crap.

Well AMG,Im not sure if I buy into your analogy that draws a comparison between this "CLC" and a Maybach. Like someone else said, its all just a matter of personal preference. What do you mean by "whatever MB does, it is good enough"? The CLC seems seems to be an old c-class hatchback (which failed miserably in the US) with a front end ttransplant from the newets c-class sedans. At least BMW has learned there is no market for a hatchback from a luxury car maker, MB just hasnt learned from their mistakes.

There WAS no market. But as the price of gasoline increases Americans are forced to reconsider there need for "OHV V8's and solid axles". Mr Clarkson said that!

yeah MB hasn't learned from their mistakes its a company that loses money and makes horrible cars and their not going to be around for much longer

Which seems to be very contrary to how you were rambling about how amazing and glorious Mercedes Benz was. Mercedes Benz will always be a successful company, with a few mistakes. Get your facts straight.

Since when does MB loose money? MB sold more cars in october since ever before and made more than 5 bil. US$ profit in the first three quarters. So their strategy seems to work very well. That the CLC is not very well sold in the US does not seem to be a problem for Daimer as long it is not the target market.

But what I do not like with the CLC is that they kept the side view exactly as the one of the old model. It seems that they did not want so spend too much money for renewing the car.

CLC is especially pointless because if you want C-class based sports car you have the CLK, or I guess the SLK, or even a high-powered A or B-class. I've always thought it quite pretty but the 1-series coupe is nicer.

hey let me teach you a lesson on sarcasm because you obviously don't know what it is. You're smart, you know a lot about cars and you're not full of ego. Thats real sarcasm right there. I hope you get it now.

The old C Coupe was not to be replaced, but due to pressure from markets were it sold well, such as UK, Mercedes decided to produce a facelift. The car will be built in S.America, will use the existing 203 chassis and will receive the 204 nose as per pictures. There are no plans for any new engines except exisitng 203 engines

They have just 1100 new parts and call it as a new model! Huh even the touareg had more than 2000 new parts after "Facelift"... and its back looks ugly
