I would vote for the 997 turbo as the best everyday car. Comfortable, fast, prestige, 4 seater and of course expensive. Dont forget the 0-160-0 where it comes first in line! This is all around performance

oh no you should'nt of said that peccles, now there is going to be like 10,000 comments of people fighting with each other about wich is better and you know some of the german readers and their racially biast mindsets are gonna try to tear you apart. personally i would take either car(corvette z06/porsche c4s), they're both very nice.

The Carerra 4S does have slightly better handling, slightly better steering feel, better manual gearbox, and better fit/finish than both Corvettes. It should for the money Porsche wants for it. The Vettes are lighter, much more powerful, have a nicer interior, and are more comfortable as an everyday driver (well the base Vette anyway).

peccles, I would take either car but I think stock vettes are now equipped with 400hp engine. I have to disagree with you on the interior though. I've never been a fan of GM interiors. Porsche's on the other hand is immaculate, but ofcouse it comes with a much more hefty price tag.

i wouldn't mind either one... if i had the money to choose how ever (aka i could buy either one)... id definitely go for the 4S german quality cant be beat by american quality also, the engine sound of the porsche is just beautiful compared to the corvettes rugged harsh sounding engine

No doubt the Porsche has a better interior than the Corvette. Its in line 6 no doubt is not as powerful as the Corvette's V8 in both the C6 and the Z08. Nevertheless for the around 80K the Z08 and the Carrera 4S is worth, its all a matter of what you look for in a car. Porsche and some GMs both have reputations for fit and finish, the former is more focused on better handling with power management/ delivery to all 4 wheels, the Corvette is just all about horsepower and speed (hence its slightly spartan interior). The corvette certainly looks more exotic as well but personally I'd go for the German ride.

the phrase every day car means you can drive it through snow banks, sleet, hail etc. being able to fit four adults and haul groceries while kickin supercar ass on california freeways, crowded or clear. now your answer would shift to the audi rs6. v10 twin turbo. you amg benz guys should hold your head in shame. no resale value.'04 cl65's are going for 45k!!! probably the greatest hot rod/daily driver ever. you can't find an '03 rs6 v8 twin turbo for that, which is a close 2nd to the cl65 as far as perfect everyday vehicle. facts gentlemen.

if i had to have a porsche 911, it would be the targa 4s because it looks prettier and has spectacular performance. but there are a lot of cars that can compete these days, such as the audi r8, noble m15, etc. i dont think the corvette can compete with the porsche 911, i mean its a great car, however, the porsche 911 is a superb car that doesnt just look great, but also drives great. and my choice for a corvette wouldnt be a z06, but probably an older model... and then if i bought an older car, i would buy a mercedes 280sl or jaguar e-type... not a corvette... :p

its the best car because its german.The corvette isn't even comparable, but because someone else commented on it, I have to say that the corvette seems to be an odd looking car with a very primitive interior.

I agree that C4S is very good alternative to the Turbo. Yes, the Turbo is a supercar that you can use every single day, yes - it's faster, yes - it offers superior technology, but costs so much more and when it comes to the value for money C4S is simply better
