Mercedes C-Class Sport Coupe Spied with Redesigned Interior

As I recall it wasn't a very succesfull model. I wonder how this new model will sell. Enyway the 3 series coupe has no competitor.

I guess MB didnt learn the first time they tried introducing a hatchback, this one wont do much better. MB's attempt comes nowhere close to the BMW 1 series, if this has 230hp I would be surprised, let alone anywhere close to 300hp in the 135i, and look at the interior here, maybe its changed from the last hatchback they introduced, but its about the same as the last c-class, the only thing this shares with the new c-class is a front end, what a piece of crap.

that's the interior of the old c-class model sport edition and same old sport edition steering wheel, it can't be the same interior of the old one it's very obvious that the interior is camouflaged by that old one.

I would have really liked to see more distinctive styling on this model. As a BMW 1 series competitor it is adequate and the V6 turbo diesel will with it's abundance of torque easily match the performance of BMWs 3.0 liter twin turbo gas engine.

The only thing that appears new here is the front end. It looks as though they are just grafting a new C-Class nose to the existing 3 door body. The interior hasn't changed at all as far as I can tell.

I dont think these pics are interior camo. I think the coupe is still based on the W203 C-class, with a little external "freshening". If thats the case, I'll take a red 135i w/o iDrive please! The W203 was a decent small car, but a shitty Mercedes!

What redesigned interior. Thats the same exact interior the previous generation C class sedan had although i have no idea about the previous sportcoupe. There is no 'redesigning'involved, rather a 'transplant' unless the interior shown was just for testing purposes.

Gee mb65, it is a photo from the old model, just look at the exterior mirror! I don't know why silly wcf calls it an "interior-spy" from the new model.

Not really, these test cars aren't complete cars yet so these engineers take parts from other cars of the make just for testing purposes.

Read my comment carefully. The exterior mirror could have been from another Mercedes that was painted red.

and look at the pictures of the front. The mirrors are taped over so you can't see the actual color of the mirrors except for a tiny spot they missed which is red.

Gee MB65, the pictures show the car also from behind, and there you can't discover any red exterior mirrors, dude! That also shows that there isn't "a tiny piece" which is red!

The problem with this kinda of car what is the point of working hard to own and drive something special and unique, if they are going to put out a mass market car that will drive the desire for the brand name down?

Yeah, you could be right, on the interior-shot you see a part of the exterior in silver, well, we'll see.

Trust me guys, everything you see here is from the same car and will be what you see when the "new" C-Class hatch is unveiled. Look at the mirrors on the external shots, they're covered in black tape but you can see the mirrors are red underneath. The interior isn't a testing mule or camoflage job, it's the actual interior. You can see they've updated the centre console and switchgear to match that on the new A and C-class sedan, and it's integrated well enough to definitely indicate this isn't a testing mule job. As has already been reported here and everywhere else about a hundred times, the new C-class hatch is essentially the old one, still on the old platform, with a new nose grafted on. They're also replacing the taillights, giving it a new hatch and updating the console and switchgear, but there ain't much else to see here. Considering it's a facelift of a pretty underwhelming car, indications are it will continue to sell poorly.

That just shows the extent of the cheapness and the lack any care whatsoever by Mercedes for this sportcoupe. If there's a new c class, there should be a new sportcoupe and why would they even bother facelifting the car anyway. It sold so poorly even after one or two facelifts from the first one that came out. At least the front looks a little better, but the ridiculously high and swollen back end makes the car look so disporportionate.
