Rolli doesn't like to base his comments on facts, just his hate for everything not German. Yea Benz made diesels and CDIs and CGIs but we're talking about hybrids here. The Toyota Prirus- best selling hybrid ever made? Camry Hybrid? Highlander Hybrid? and don't forget its lexus counterparts; Ls 600h? Rx 400? GS? Shouldn't the "biggest" producer of hybrids be the one that sells the most? Rolli you retard. Get your facts straight.

Toyota is the biggest producer of hybrid vehicle in the world, that's a fact. Benz and BMW just got into the game not long ago beacause they just realized what success Toyota is having.

The point is that the diesel hybrid ( and the upcoming Diesotto engine technology) is a more efficient choice than a gas-electric hybrid and as clean or cleaner in regards to pollution. The hybrid technology we are beginning to see in GM/Chrysler/Daimler/BMW vehicles was developed by GM and has been in use in public transportation Buslines in many metropolitan areas for years. GM, BMW & then DaimlerChrysler formed a partnership to refine and scale down this technology for use in passenger cars & trucks. The 2 mode hybrid technology is MORE efficient than Toyota's gas-hybrid technology. Toyota has benefited from the public perception that Toyota is a "green" company but many hybrid buyers were disgruntled that they did not see the advertised mpg figures...and by the way...why doesn't Toyota have a Tundra hybrid ??? Toyota did a good thing by bringing the Prius to market...but now we see a major leap forward in hybrid tech and ToYoMo is not leading...

Ofcourse more power and efficient than Lexus. Lexus gives the image of a gay meterosexual with a pink collared shirt. Benz is a black suit.

no read the article. This thing gets 265 horsepower. Its Lexus ls 600 V8 comepetitor gets around 480. And its GS competitor gets definetley more than 265 horsepower. Read the article before you make any more retarded commments.

and by the way, YOU dont give me more of an image than a gay metrosexual with a pink flowered collared shirt yourself.

Mercedes has been making hybrids with their trucks and buses in europe for over a dozen years

The lexus Ls v8 i believe is combined HP with the electric and gas. Either way you cant expect a smaller diesel engine to have the same hp as a bigger gas engine. Regardless this car beats the LS-h in every single aspect. esp fuel economy. Now this is a hybrid not that joke of an Escallade.

Yeah! Merc has been making hybrids for decades but was 'UNSUCCESSFUL'. read some reports and news, kids!
Toyota Prius is considered as worlds most dependable and reliable hybrid. followed by the Lexus RX 400h and LS 600h. The Mercs can't even make the rain sensors and light sensors right. Mine ('06 E280) wipes after the rain has stopped. And, turns on the headlights in broad daylight. Some people ask why I turned on my headlights in the daytime, and my answer was part of the Merc design was "To SHowOFF" hahah!!
