The highly successful four door CLS coupe will get its first restyling after nearly four years on the market. Mercedes-Benz launched the CLS back in 2004 and the facelift model is scheduled for release in the spring of 2008. Our spy photographers spotted this undisguised CLS on the streets of Stuttgart.

The most notable cosmetic changes include renewed front and rear bumpers as well as a "two-chrome bar" front grille, identical to that of the bigger CL coupe front grille. Also note the renewed tail lights.

Since its launch the CLS has successfully sold roughly 60 000 units annually and now Mercedes' Munchen- and Ingolstadt-based archrivals are working on their four-door coupes. Expect Audi's A7 and BMW's CS to take on the CLS at the end of the decade. In fact, even Porsche and Aston Martin are set to launch their Panamera and Rapide streamlined sedans in the near future. Expect Mercedes to have an all-new CLS by then.

Its getting more noticeable that Mercedes is starting to make their AMG packages standard on more of their cars. Certainly looks a little more fresh although I don't see too much of a difference. We'll have to wait to se the interior.

In my opinion still the sexiest mercedes out there. I cant really see that big of a difference the new smaller headlights make the rear of the car look way to big and fat. IMO it was fine the way it was. maybe add the CLS65 option not useless facelifts.

Only the high end Mercedes' get the 65 AMG engine. They would never put it on the CLS.

Yes Aznman..I think the 65 engine only offered on the SL CL and S. Brutal power.

Looks like the rear's been photoshopped a bit, I wouldn't be surprised if the shots were of an uncovered nose but still-disguised read.

the car appears to have an AMG style bodykit, like mentioed previously. but where is the AMG style wheels and the badges? it clearly isnt a CLS63 coz the quad exhausts are gone, but what are the actual possabilities of this being photoshopped?

I really think that the next BMW 8 Series Coupe is good looking car than CLS. Its smooth straight 6 is no match CLS's V6 engine.

What next 8 series coupe? You mean the CS concept..

Anyone got a magnifier? Changes were so minor that I haven't found them yet.

Of course it's based on the CS concept.

But BMW never announced an "8 series coupe". the CS concept is likely to go into production but you can't just call it the "8 series coupe".

The bosses of BMW has already given a green light of a 4-door 8 Series coupe.
