Despite the extra weight from the additional reinforcement needed to make the MINI Convertible maintain its body stiffness, this latest spy video of the second generation MINI shows no signs of heftiness as it tears up the Nordschleife at Nurburgring. Impressive is the lack of body roll in turns as well as the exhaust/engine sound as it sprints down the straight. In one scene the MINI convertible gets a little sideways on the damp track while a Lamborghini Gallardo stalks close behind. The MINI is expected to make it's public debut at Detroit in January and market debut at Geneva just in time for spring 2008.
