We know what you're thinking: "But the video says it's the new Mercedes-Benz SLC. What gives?"
Some people think this is the long fabled SLC, but rumor has it the SLC draws from the next edition of the SL class. Our sources tell us this is more likely the 2008 Mercedes-Benz SL Black Series.
Previously spied a little over a month ago, this video shows the same vented hood, sporty CLS-esque front end, video of this prototype hit YouTube a couple of weeks ago. Likely tuned to peak-performance, we speculate this car is getting over 500 horsepower from a 6.2 litre Mercedes-Benz V8.
Last month we also told you about the flared-out fenders. We still believe this is made from carbon fibre, as the weight will be trimmed away from this car at any cost. In the video, the roof also looks to be for a coupe, and it still looks to be carbon fibre.
Our spies are still on the lookout for the Mercedes-Benz SL Black Series, and we are still trying to find out more from Stuttgart. When we get more details, we will definitely pass them on.
