First restyling

The current Mercedes CLS has been on the market since 2004 and is due for a facelift. Today our spyphotographers caught a glimpse of the redesigned four door coupe on the streets of Stuttgart, Germany.

The new front grille is clearly visible through the black paint and shows us two chrome bars in similar styling to the current model but with two bars less. The rear end seems to be receiving new taillights and a new bumper, but more on that when some of the covers are shed. The exhaust tips receive a minor styling change too, with a less oval shape.

We are expecting to see the facelifted Mercedes CLS as a 2008 model year.

There is a very good reason why car manufacturers desguise their cars, so they would not get coppyed, mostly by chineese. Production cars and test subjects almost never look alike.

OH YEAH, THIS CAR NEEDS A FACELIFT , ALRIGHT . ITS FACIAL FEATURES ARE MATRONLY, ITS BUTTLINE SAGGING, ITS SIDES RAVAGED BY FLABBY HIGH BELTLINE , ITS DRIVER AND PASSENGER COULD HARDLY LOOK OUTSIDE THE WINDOWS . AND THAT "FUTURISTIC" CAR PRESENTED AT THE FRANKFURT INTERNATIONAL CAR SHOW ? NEEDS A COMPLETE BODY TRANSPLANT . OH , MERCEDES 230 SL , WHERE ARE YOUR LIKES RIGHT NOW ? ? ?

CLS is one of the most beautiful designs from Mercedes for the lat TWO decade. I have a problem with the rear, though but it seems that the Mercedes people agree with me. As for the small windows - Audi TT (now & before) has smaller ones and yet receives no adverse comments.

hahahaha Rolli.

anyway, one of the factors of facelifts are marketing, to get some more exposure into a model to keep interest steady. although on chris mangle's multipla, it was a totally different story

How could they improve on already sheer exellence and beauty

Funny thing is, the design looks like something the italians would come up with, not germans. That's why it's beautiful and been praised by numerous sources. german cars have more of a distintive look that is beautiful in its own rights though.

Owned a CLS since '05. Often wondered how Mercedes would do an update. Tough job, they can't! Still the prettiest sedan of all!

I dont like much this CLS design. The body looks too bent from certain angles of view.... Uhh.. Anyway thats my opinion. .. think that main touch will be on front grille.
