First interior shots

In our last article about the new BMW Z4 we promised to keep you informed when the prototype would shed anymore padding. Well, the exterior camouflage padding is still the same but our spyphotographer did manage to snap two images of the cockpit!

Phony plastic panels are still plentiful on the car, but the grille and front bumper are fairly visible a thin layer of black tape. The new BMW Z4 will be slightly larger than the current generation and sits on the new 3 Series chassis, with most of the extra size on this prototype still credited to the plastic camouflage panels. It seems likely that the new 3.0 liter inline six will find its way to the Z4 since it is already in the new 3 Series.

Production of the current Z4 takes place in South Carolina in the Spartanburg plant but the new Z4 is expected to be built in Germany at the Regensburg plant starting in the end of 2009.

This is a test-interior, I wouldn't say it has anything to do with the fnal version, same with the Panamera...

Rubbish! BMWs so-called sports cars have a rubbish reputation, with the company having failed to deliver a decent 2-seater sports car that delivers anywhere near as much as their sport saloons. The Z3, Z4 and Z8 have been hopeless compared to their rivals.
