F1 Championship Not Over Yet!

Yesterday we all thought the F1 season had been completed when Kimi Raikkonen took the chequered flag in Brazil taking the drivers championship in the process, but McLaren have other ideas.

In yet another twist BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld as well as Williams driver Nico Rosberg were found to be in breach of technical regulations regarding fuel temperatures. Given that they finished 4th, 5th and 6th respectively this could possibly lift Hamilton up and thus send the drivers championship title hurtling back in favour of the British rookie sensation.

It is understood the fuel temperature issue - specifically fuel that has been cooled - can give a car extra horsepower advantage, and so is a clear breach of the rules. However following a 3 hour meeting the Brazilian Grand Prix stewards decided against imposing any penalties against BMW or Sauber or their respective drivers.

Now McLaren have notified F1's FIA governing body they will be appealing the stewards decision.

Everyone here at WCF is in full agreement this is a pointless step to take and is unlikely to come to any positive conclusion for McLaren - even Alonso was quoted on Spanish radio saying "If he (Hamilton) wins the championship due to this, it wouldn't be fair and I would be embarrassed for this sport."

Alonso buddy, whats up? Can't keep up with schumi's numbers? LOL. I guess it figures though since he is just a spanish driver and not German.

i understand the point of view that mclaren contesting the championship due to the breaking of the rules as futile, however look at it from this perspective. If hamilton had won the race and it was discovered his and alonso's fuel had been tampered with would you then agree that he should keep the title? As for alonso's quote i bet he wouldnt of been embarrased if he won the title in such a manner, he may get something more important than that as he has backed two other teams that he may end up driving for as he doesn't have many friends left in f1. apart from max mosely and bernie eccleston who he went too after trying to blacmail ron dennis for prime role with the team. But that backfired as ron did it him self, i wouldnt be held to randsom by that spoilt little brat.

cmon, even hamilton agrees that they shouldnt appeal! this is pointless. ferrari dint bother appealing when hamilton somehow went and over took the safety car!

come on mclaren, we all know you hate ferrari but get over it. hamilton over took the safetey car so if FIA give the title to Lewis that really sucks. anyway mclaren suck anyway and should really stop cheating , because in quailfaing they used 2 sets of wet tires and we if they get another fine they will hopefully go bankrupt.

Hamilton is not a good driver. His results are due to Alonso's work. Without Fernando, Hamiltion wouldn't have obtained good results. I would like to see Hamilton in other teams, like Spyker or Spuper Aguri..... The Ron's daddy child, was not a man(he broke his car down) and made lose all his team. Next year without Alonso in Mc Laren, Hamilton will be like.... Coulthard/Nick?
