nooo don't do it! its engine is a classic which could trace its roots back to the 1950s..keep and improve the 6.75 V8 engine..

As an avid car enthiusiast at the tender age of 22. Yes it is a milestone for Bentley to push 200mph. Although all of their cars are within 5 of this quote "en quote milestone". I am not a person to say that it is not worth the time to push 200 but as the Veyron says(can only do 253 before the tires melt past 3 miles.)/ Ask yourself... will there ever be a car that can go 253mph per hour... per hour... or for 253 miles Lets look at the facts. Bentley is a derivative of a mainstream VW powerplant(try and doubt the VW Phaeton: go ahead) It is true they have a basis as far as design and market focus. As a company their main goal is to sell cars. the more cars, the more revenue, the better cars they produce. Bentley lost the "Bentley when they sold out". Not many people will realize this change but seeing a real Bentley on the street will turn you. Facts: Volkswagen owns Audi, Audi owns Bentley and Lamborghini: Bentley GT and GTC. Garbage. Good cars for one purpose. To sell cars in that market. It is an upscale market. People do have the means. Honestly 180,000 is that much in the afflucent market. Enough to promote a heavy ass car with a good acceleration figure, top speed(unrestricted to the fact that it isn't on german restrictions i.e. 155) But guess what... " BENTLEY......Causios of Lamborghinis, there is a certain flair not to the car but to the buyer in that market that they will hopefully apppreciate the car. Gallardo. Audi parts, Audi allwheel-drive... German Italian marriage. Murcielago, more of an Audi defiance....phenomenal cockpit. Engine Note Heavensent.Grab on the Murc. Gallardo is just another Audi. Think about hard but look up any aud0i and see the same cockpit. Versace Coupe hands down. Sexiest car. Prove me WRONG

i dont think they will, remember how long it took to get the veyron out for sale because of cooling issues? i doubt they'll sort that out in a bentley. Unless its non rolling prototype

This will make an astonishing showcar, but VeinsInMyAcid is right. This will never make it to production. Besides, the OHV 6.75 is as British as Aluminium!

Bentley is German now

Indeed, an interesting SHOWCAR. I even hope for not producing the car because of the facts below. The long tradition of the Anarge V8 is the real prestige for this sporty cruiser! And VW should make cars for low budgets better then enter stairways to heaven

Bentley Motors Limited is an English subsidiary of the VW Group. They are not German. VW has done a fairly decent job of refining and updating the company without sacrificing its unique market appeal.

Bentley is German now. Just like when you buy the apple at the store it is no longer the grocers, it its yours. And the brits (who sold themselves to Audi) they will keep pumping them out like the farmer for us to make profits on.

I won't say Bentleys are English now. Yes, technically they're German, but the way they're, their character and soul are still English, and I like that combination

Many aren't aware that the quad-turbo W16 Veyron produces approx. 3000PS. 2000 of those are wasted in the inefficiency of the drive-train. Between 10 water to air heat exchangers, Motronic "retarding" timing when engine temp creeps past 80C and a derivative of Quattro all wheel drive the Veyron barely manages to get 1000PS to the road. Now, how do you suppose you would package this drive-train into an engine bay small enough to make an OHV V8 look large? Not to mention the rear-mounted 7-speed DSG? And then have all of this pass crash, emissions and CAFE regulations while still making a profit...

Tend to agree to Benz-man. Though it is technically interesting, I feel something like a fossil becomes alive back from Jurassic Park. Who is allowed to emit so much of GHG? Matter is beyond money already

Bentleys used to be fine racing machines in their heyday. VW have the Audi V 12 diesel racing engine which they are unable to use on any of their current road cars. It would, however, be an excellent fit into the Arnage with its weight and everything. That might be a better choice than the Veyron's engine, with the diesel also being environment friendly as a bonus.

This Bentley is no doubt very beautiful though I would rather spend my $200 grand on an S63 and a nice Cayman S. It's a beautiful car but why would you need all that power and all that mass in a car that's already over 5000lbs? It would be very sloppy on the road. And NO Bentley is still Brits' and VW group works very hard to keep it that way. They already have their AUDI competing in the luxury car segment and they need Brit's Bentley in the ultra luxury segment.

I like TBDN's idea of a V12 diesel Bentley, that would be impressive. Yeah I know it's not traditional but times are changing. Maybe a hybrid too?

why does bentley have to copy rolls, you will never beat them.
