As their name implies, Carscoop has scooped another story by obtaining an internal VW memo to European dealerships containing the intended launch dates of three new VW models: the Scirocco, MKVI Golf and next gen Polo.

The first one to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2008 is the all-new Golf based Scirocco Coupe. Unfortunately, the Scirocco will not be exported to the U.S. due to fears of the model cannibalizing GTI sales, according to Jalopnik.com.

Next on the list is the ever-crucial all-new 6th generation Golf model due in the first quarter of 2009. Originally to be launched at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show in March, former Audi CEO and current VW Chairman, Martin Winterkorn, postponed the Golf debut six months for a Paris debut since he wanted costs cut as well as design revisions to be made.

Lastly, the next-generation sub-compact Polo which will be based on the recently launched Skoda Fabia will debut in the second half of 2009. No indicators suggest the Polo will enter the U.S. market.

the Scirocco looks like a the child of a audi/mitsubishi marriage. looks nice but brings nothing new to the market as youd expect from vw.

Slaves of propaganda! You've must seen many japanese commercials! Indeed, Mitsubishi copied from Audi and the Sirocco, that's fact when you look at the release-dates of concepts and models, and what do you understand of "creativety"? Innovations? Yes, a lot! Design? Yes, all copy it!

Finally, the Scirocco lives again. It's about time VW brought back a sports car instead of repackaged Golf. Can't wait to see it in the flesh.

coopergt, you seem to think every car is a C30. Maybe you have C30 on the brain? :D

the italian meastro had his finger on the pulse. and yes i do have the right to say WHATEVER i want. basically when the japanese have mediocre looking cars the world calls them boring, but when the germans do the same the call the subtle! that pathetic mercedes monstrosity that was shown at frankfurt was unbelievable pathetic to look at. had it come from japan or worse still korea and china the laughs would be heard all over the world. good design should be aplauded and lack of creativity should be shunned whoever is doing it. thanks THERENAISSANCEMAN
