The G55 is 493hp so shy of the Porsche, and the Audi is still only a prototype. So not classified as a production yet.

Hi amg55 Let me write my comment: The Diesel engine invented by Rudolf Diesel, Benz and Daimler created an engine based on the Rudolf's work. By the way the peoples said that todays the best diesel-engine manufacturer is BMW, they got lot of awards. The VW was the first automaker who used diesel engine in the lower class (Golf 1.6 D) , the Audi developed the direct injection (which is the elementary for all the current diesel engine), the Fiat developed the common rail injection based on the Audi's direct injection. Thw VW has a self developed PD TDI diesel engine where they riched 2050 bar pressure first time in diesel engine, and now days the 3rd generation piezo common rail can provide same pressure, but the PD did it more that 5 years ago. I know the Mercedes is Mercedes all the time, but in this case your comment is focused only the "star" but you should see behing the scenes. V
