I like. Looks like a paddle shifter and HUD in the interior shots. Some people just don't like an upstart rattling the establishment with something better and cheaper. Go Nissan. Kick ass.

They've beaten the 911 on the 'ring many times before, and from the looks of things, they've done it again. The Carrera GT may indeed be a lofty target, but I'll be cheering them on, hoping they can indeed pull it off. Those of us who actually know of the exploits of the Skyline GT-R have good reason not to underestimate Nissan.

When BMW came with their Formula 1 car at the Ring they did a best of 8:34 and a top speed of 275 km/h.
What Nissan think they are doing ?! It's not safe to unlish such a thing on the roads.

4WD, electronics everywhere, tech turbo. wonderful tech displaying really good numbers but thats all GT-R's have always been good for, numbers.

When BMW raced with their F1 car, they did not go for a time attack, too dangerous + impossible for a current F1 car at the wavy road of Nürburgring.
Having a fast lap time is rather a reason for a car to be safe, as the brakes, tires and suspension have to be good to be fast, the top speed does not matter.
I hope the GT-R beats the Carrera GT's record time, so the world will know that Porsche is not the only company that builds fast cars for the track.

Is it just me or does this car resemble the Infiniti G37 coupe? Either way, Im expecting great things from this car, and with such claims as those stated above, I hope I'm not being set up for disapointment.

yes stupid folks.. Beat the carrera GT. For Those of you who havent' been watching the japanese motorsport market most probably would not believe that. For me it's no surpise at all. It's been a year ans something since the law of the 280bhp has been cancelled and some supercars are going down easily.
I mean look at how many mod companies work in Japan. Most of the oldest models have been sleeping at 280Bhp waiting for the limitation to be removed from the Japanese law.
The R-34 GTR could be easily be supped up to 500bhp (working safely) The supra with stock internals can be suped up to 600Bhp the Nissan Silvia which I have is now 380Bhp with just an exhaust system and an ECU and it's 250bhp stock.
Now get real. The eu supercars are really going down. Even the new technology of the porsches turbos is considered old with the new turbos of the GT-r

+ don't forget that u r watching a 68K car vs a 250K car(I estimate) and we don't know yet if this is the evo version of the GTR with the 550BHP that is doing laps aroung the RING. if it's just the Vspec the evo version can easily beat the 7:28.

with the amount of electronics on this car, its going go like hell but fell numb going about it. ugly as hell too and i'm betting the interior will look tacky as well like all other recent japanese sports designs.
