So we are left with a dilemma, the first official teaser shot of the New Subaru WRX STi turns up on the web (courtesy of our friends over at carscoop, see on the right) on the same day we get the most revealing spy shots from Nurburgring. In true WCF fashion we hold nothing back, so here you are all in one go.
Subaru have taken a great deal of care to keep the STi under wraps as we can see in the photos, the covers were kept on right up until the protype reached their workshop outside of the Nürburgring.
Fortunately soon after the covers were off and we can see an extremely clean STi prototype circling the Nürburgring, revealing all of the new Subaru's hottest design points. Prior prototypes were still heavily taped, and had padding stuffed around the fender flares.
Now we can see the true shape of the STi's bulging fenders, and the large air duct integrated into the side of the front bumper. The front intakes have some thin tape covering the nose slats, but the shapes that lay behind are still completely visible.
Seeing the WRX STi's more aggressive bodywork so clearly now, we can see Subaru are in a strong position to do battle with Mitsubishi's slick new EvoX. Keep an eye out over the next few days and weeks leading up it's debut in Tokyo as further official details are released.
