Press Release
RX 400 PK – Pickup is an amazing car, built from the most important model among the Intercar production of professional vehicles (the starting chassis is the Ssangyong Rexton off-road), by keeping the same dimensions: 6.15 m long; 1.90 m wide; 1.75 m high. It’s equipped with a 270 XDI engine. Due to the craftsman work to build the car, of course the price gets expensive. An additional feature which explains the value of the car is the unusual mix between personality and versatilità. As a matter of fact, on european market there’s no way to find a pickup which feature the same comfort on board for all passengers and such a large loading compartment (2.30m long).
Behind the cab there’s a hard top equipped with airtight shutter which becomes a practical boot. Once open, it becomes an extension to the main rear compartment, by increasing its useful length. The RX becomes a multi-shape vehicle: it can be seen as an extravagant limousine, or an “arrogant” off-road for sheiks, a practical support for workers, a solution for transporting bycicles and motorbikes etc.
If compared to an ordinary off-road, the first difference is the lower height, which improves the comfort on board and makes the pickup easier to drive.
The style is born from a deep work on the original Ssangyong SUV, which can still be recognized by a few details.
The most important element is the great work on both the sides, which have been transformed in order to mask the great wheel housings. They now appear as arches well merged with the shape of the bodywork, and their little projection outward enhances the physical impression suggested by the wheels: the pickup seems to be heavily placed on the ground. By looking across the side, the lines drive attention continuously towards the nose of the car, where the bumper is stretched forward as a soft arrow, so it increases le length of the front section by giving the RX a more balanced layout.
By positioning the license plates under glasses, the style gets even “faster” and more precious, because there are no more interruptions in lines and surfaces.
