Series-hybrid concept is a revival for Volvo as they experimentally developed it about 20years ago with gas turbine engine. So they are experienced in series hybrid. However, evolution of technologies made it possible today to use lithium-ion batteries and in-wheel motor set up. I hope in-wheel architecture not to bring too heavy unsprunged weight which Mitsubishi has already experienced.
