Toyota RAV4 Cross Sport Debut in Frankfurt
Toyota RAV4 Cross Sport

Carscoops has dug up a photo of the yet to be released Toyota RAV4 Cross Sport which is set to debut at the forthcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. Already described as a compact SUV or more accurately a Recreational Activity Vehicle (RAV), the Cross Sport goes down the path (no pun intended) of the VW Cross Polo and Subaru Outback with stylized exterior trim which strives for a “serious” off road look despite its off-road capabilities remaining non-existent. Ironically, Toyota states the styling package is aimed towards urban areas which is best typified by the large 17-inch wheels.

Available in Europe this September the RAV4 Cross Sport also receives LED tail lamps, touchscreen DVD navigation, parking assist as well as a choice of 152hp 2.0 liter pertrol engine or 136hp 2.2 liter D-4D diesel engine.

More details and photos to follow as we get closer to the Frankfurt show.

quote "off-road capabilities remaining non-existent" I think this comment is unfair. I know RAV4 can't match the bigger brother (Landcruiser) or the other big names of the off-road league, but you can't say the off-road capabilities are not existant. My 2 cents.
