Debut as B-Car Concept at Frankfurt
The online Dutch division of Autoweek 'exclusively' released the first two design sketches of Ford's all new global car, the 2009 Ford Fiesta. It will make its debut as the Ford B-Car Concept but will eventually evolve into the new Ford Fiesta (Autoweek thinks this might be the ST version), that is unless Ford decides to rename the car entirely!
Design genetics come from the new Mondeo and S-Max and is designed by Martin Smith, who also worked on the current generation Opel Zafira and Corsa before he was bought out by Ford. Autoweek continues to claim that the new Fiesta will be built on the same platform as the Mazda 2, and not as earlier speculated the Fiat 500. We can expect the new Fiesta to hit showrooms mid 2008.
We are expecting the official announcement within the next few days, so stay tuned.
