But Duesenberg claims Pebble Beach price

It has been 70 years since Duesenberg closed its doors and hopes were high for a triumphant return to the global forefront of automotive perfection at this years Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance which took place last weekend. That did not quite happen, but Duesenberg did manage to make a mark at this years show by Harry Yeaggy from Cincinnati, Ohio taking home the 'Best of Show' award for his Duesenberg Mormon Meteor (otherwise known as a 1935 SJ Special).

Duesenberg had planned to take the wrappings of the Duesenberg Torpedo Coupe, but the company now mentions that “honoring a legend must be done right” on their website resulting in the launch date being pushed back by a year to mid 2008. The coupe will still be featuring an air-cooled and self lubricating, forced-air inducted (supercharged), 12 cylinder, double ended, ported, multi-fueled, four-stroke engine producing 300 hp while consumption levels remain low at 80 miles per gallon.

Design is being performed by Jeff Teague, known for his work as Head Designer for Volkswagen US, Mitsubishi US and Ford (first generation Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable). His father designed classic AMC cars such as the Pacer, Gremlin and AMX.

The Düsenberg-brothers were german, but this delineations look ugly as japanese cars.

Uhhh actually they were from Germany but they were Americans. And I think the car is great. The engine is awesome if they actually go with the CEM. 300 horses, 12 cyl, 18in, and only 100lbs. America needs something like this.
