Less camouflage
Known internally at Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) as the W2, the Roewe 450 is being designed by their UK based R&D department formerly known as Rover. In Europe the 450 will most likely be identified as the Rover 45. The W2 concept was first shown at the 2007 Shanghai Motor Show and we expect the Roewe 450 to face the crowds at the next Shanghai Motor Show.
The prototype has shed some of its camouflage revealing the front fascia to some extent, leaving only the headlights partly taped up, while keeping the rear draped in a black bra. Earlier we were able to shed some light on engine choices, namely a 1.6l, 1.8l or 1.8l turbo.
Is SAIC turning into a worthy successor of Rover? Let us know with a comment.
