Due for a mid-life facelift, the 2010 model year Mustang will be available in U.S. dealerships early 2009. Unfortunately, the photographer only captured this one shot as the driver took off upon seeing the camera lens pointing his way.
Previously, KGP spy photographers caught an early Mustang front-end mule with tighter fit-forming camouflage which showed some of the design lines in the fender and bumper. KGP immediately recognized a resemblance to Giuagiaro's Mustang Concept which debuted at LA in 2006. As a result, it seems Ford engineers this time around have installed a heavily stuffed bra to ensure no more design cues sneak into view. Also, as further evidence, Giugiaro's press release for next weeks Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance mentions that their Mustang concept “could be the Ford Mustang of the future”. Take it as pure hype, but maybe there's some truth to it.
The rear-end is also expected to receive a new design treatment. In addition, the new BOSS 5.7 Liter V8 engine as well as other new engines are expected.
